Since forming the Elisi-Pan Duo in 2023, pianists Enrico Elisi and Mengyang Pan have captivated audiences with their vibrant interplay and refined artistry, gaining recognition for their performances across continents. They hail from diverse cultural backgrounds, which inform a dynamic partnership fueled by a shared passion for collaborative music: Elisi is Italian-American, and Pan is Chinese-British. Drawing on wide-ranging experiences, their shared passion for collaborative music has forged a dynamic partnership that has rapidly led to international invitations to perform. Their dedication enables them to balance active solo careers and teaching roles across continents while pursuing notable performances together worldwide.

Recently, the duo took the stage at Baylor University, Southern Methodist University, Texas Christian University, and Weatherford College in the United States. They also presented Poulenc’s Concerto for Two Pianos and Orchestra in Beijing with the China Conservatory of Music Symphony Orchestra, under the direction of German conductor Manuel Nawri. This concert took place at Guoyintang Concert Hall as part of Retrospect: The French Chapter of Turn-of-the-Century Music. 

The duo's wide-ranging presence at U.S.-renowned venues and festivals includes the Texas State University Guest Recital Series and Texas State International Piano Festival, the Steinway Gallery (Austin), and the Clayes Performing Arts Center at California State University (Fullerton). In Europe, they performed at the Conero International Piano Festival in Italy and Cheltenham Ladies College in the UK. In Asia, the duo appeared at Steinway Hall in Shun Yi, the Cavendish Concert Hall in Beijing, the Namhae International Festival & Academy in South Korea, the Goethehaus in Jakarta, and the Spring x Tsing Hua Arts Festival at National Tsing Hua University in Taiwan.

Frequently invited to residencies at top universities and conservatories worldwide, the duo's initiatives—such as “Effective Memorization Strategies for Pianists” and “Echoes of Progress: Traversing Piano Pedagogy from Beijing to Britain”—have influenced curricula and ignited pedagogical innovation in diverse educational settings.

Mengyang, a Chinese-British pianist, is acclaimed for her artistry and musical expression. She has performed at prominent UK venues such as the Royal Festival Hall and the Wigmore Hall, as well as internationally across Europe, the US, and Asia. Her accolades include top prizes in competitions like Rina Sala Gallo, Ettlingen, and Birmingham. Mengyang has collaborated with renowned conductors and has been praised for the brilliance and emotional depth of her performances.

Steinway Artist Enrico is recognized for his elegance and sensitivity. He has performed at prominent venues including Carnegie Hall’s Weill Hall, La Fenice Theatre in Venice, and internationally in Asia, South America, and Canada. As a laureate of competitions such as the Oporto International and the Premio Venezia, he has soloed with orchestras including the Florence Symphony and the Bay Atlantic Symphony. His recordings include Mozart sonatas and works by Paul Chihara.

Enrico earned degrees from leading institutions in Florence, Imola, and Peabody, studying under Leon Fleisher, Lazar Berman, Alexander Lonquich, and Franco Scala. He also studied chamber music at Taos and Ravinia with masters such as Menahem Pressler and Claude Frank.

Mengyang holds degrees from the Royal College of Music in London, studying with Gordon Fergus-Thompson and Vanessa Latarche. She trained at Beijing’s Central Conservatory and the Purcell School for Young Musicians under Tessa Nicholson.

In addition to their impactful performing careers, Pan and Elisi are respected educators whose teaching appointments influence the next generation of pianists. Pan, professor at the Royal College of Music in London, and Elisi, the Harold D. and Imogene Herndon Endowed Professor at Texas Christian University, continue to foster musical excellence.
